This policy explains what personal information Soar Droneworks collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are

What we collect

This website has one form on it. When you send a quote request, we collect what you type into it:

Your name and email address, which are required so that we can reply

Your phone number, if you choose to give it

The address or location of the site you want flown, which is required because it determines the airspace the job sits in

The service you are asking about, and anything you tell us about the site in the message field

Our web host also keeps standard server logs, which record IP addresses and browser information for security and troubleshooting. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This site does not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking or remarketing service. The only cookies set are functional ones used by WordPress and by the form software to keep the site working while you use it.

If analytics or advertising tools are added to this site in future, this policy will be updated before they go live.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry, to quote the work, and to plan a flight if you go ahead. The site location in particular is operational: it tells us the class of airspace, how close the site is to an aerodrome, and whether an authorisation is needed before anyone can fly. We do not use enquiry details for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote.

Imagery and data captured on a job

Aerial work produces imagery, and imagery sometimes contains people, vehicles and neighbouring property that are incidental to the job. We capture what the job requires and no more, we hold captured data for the period needed to produce and deliver the work, and we do not publish or reuse imagery from a job — including for marketing or portfolio purposes — without the client's permission.

How long we keep it

Quote requests are kept for as long as they are useful to the enquiry and to our business records, and are deleted on request unless we are required to retain them. Captured project data is held for the period needed to deliver the work and any agreed retention beyond that, which is set out in the quote for the job.

Who can see it, and who we share it with

Enquiries are read by Soar Droneworks. We do not sell personal information and we do not trade it. It is stored on this website's hosting infrastructure, and our hosting provider can technically access it in the course of maintaining the service. We will disclose information where we are legally required to — for example under a court order, or to an authority having jurisdiction in an emergency.

Where it is stored

Form submissions are stored in this website's database. Depending on where the site is hosted, that may mean your information is processed outside Canada and is subject to the laws of that country.

Your rights

Canadian privacy law gives you rights over your personal information. Under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, and the Personal Information Protection Acts of British Columbia and Alberta, you can:

Ask us to correct it if it is wrong

Withdraw your consent and ask us to delete it, subject to any legal obligation we have to keep it

Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or for Alberta

Email us and we will respond. We will not charge you for asking.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and access to form submissions is restricted to accounts that need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we do not collect sensitive categories of information through this site, and we do not ask for payment details on it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes to how we handle information will not be applied retroactively to information already collected.
